Healing times differ widely

A VCH heals in 4–8 weeks; a frenum in 2–4 months; nipples take six months to a year or more. Experience from one does not transfer to another.

Why no Prince Albert

It is worn at 2.4–3.2 mm — twice the gauge we stock. A thin ring in that channel cuts through tissue.

Size and material

Material	316L steel — 19 models. Cheaper, corrosion-resistant, suitable for a healed piercing. For the first jewellery titanium is the better choice. Titanium — 17 models. Contains no nickel, so it causes no reaction even in a fresh piercing. Lighter than steel — less load on the tissue. The material of first choice.
Thickness	1.2 mm — 24 models, 1.6 mm — 7 models, 1 mm — 6 models, 0.8 mm — 3 models. The thickness must match the one the piercing was made with.
Bar length	10 mm — 29 models, 8 mm — 25 models, 6 mm — 23 models, 12 mm — 9 models. A longer bar is needed while the swelling lasts, a shorter one — for a healed piercing.
Ring diameter	10 mm — 17 models, 8 mm — 17 models, 12 mm — 14 models, 6 mm — 8 models. A smaller diameter sits tighter, a bigger one — looser and more visible.
Thread	External — 20 models, Threadless — 8 models, Internal — 6 models. An internal thread is hidden inside the bar — it does not scratch the channel when changing.
Insert	None — 13 models, Synthetic opal — 4 models, Cubic zirconia — 3 models.
