Horizontal eyebrow piercing
In a horizontal eyebrow piercing the channel runs along the brow — it is a surface piercing. What it actually calls for is a surface bar: a staple shape that lies flat under the skin with the posts rising at a right angle. A straight barbell is a compromise — it pulls on both exits, which is why these piercings reject more often. A curved bar suits it even less, pressing its ends into the skin.
Other brow piercings
Length
Length = the gap between the exit points plus 1–2 mm, in practice 8–10 mm at 1.2 mm gauge.
Versus the vertical piercing
A vertical brow piercing crosses the arch and takes a curved barbell. The horizontal one shows two balls in a row along the brow.
Before you get it
It is a surface piercing and rejects more often than a classic brow piercing.
