How to choose
A golden colour in piercing is made in two ways: PVD coating and anodising of titanium. Both give an even shade, but neither makes the jewellery gold.

FAQ
How is this different from gold plating?
Gold plating is a layer of real gold applied galvanically; it is soft and wears off quickly. PVD is a titanium compound deposited in a vacuum: it is harder than the steel itself and lasts much longer, though there is no gold in it.
Where does the golden colour wear off first?
On the thread of the top and on the edges where the jewellery rubs against a neighbouring piece or the arm of your glasses. The coating there lightens to silver, because under it is steel or titanium, and the layer itself is thinner than a micron. The colour lasts longest on smooth convex surfaces that nothing presses against.
Which size should I choose?
The typical size for this zone is 0.8–1.2 mm thick, diameter 8–10 mm. Jewellery smaller than needed presses on the channel, bigger — catches on clothes and hair. The exact size of each model is given on its page.
How long does a nose piercing take to heal?
A nostril heals in 3–6 months, the septum faster — 2–3 months, because it goes through the thin tissue between the cartilages, not through the cartilage itself.
