Why plain first
A dangle swings with every step and tugs the channel; caught on a jumper it tears out. Add a charm only once healed.
Size
Always 1.6 mm. 11–12 mm while it swells, then 8–10 mm.
Titanium or steel
Titanium first — lighter, no nickel.
Size and material
| Material | Titanium — 8 models. Contains no nickel, so it causes no reaction even in a fresh piercing. Lighter than steel — less load on the tissue. The material of first choice. 316L steel — 2 models. Cheaper, corrosion-resistant, suitable for a healed piercing. For the first jewellery titanium is the better choice. |

| Bar length | 10 mm — 7 models, 8 mm — 2 models, 12 mm — 1 model, 6 mm — 1 model. A longer bar is needed while the swelling lasts, a shorter one — for a healed piercing. |
| Thread | Internal — 5 models, External — 4 models, Threadless — 1 model. An internal thread is hidden inside the bar — it does not scratch the channel when changing. |
