The bar joins the two halves of the muscle that need to move independently. Documented results: restricted movement, chipped incisors, gum recession from constant rubbing.

A curved barbell only, 1.6 mm, with small ends — ideally plastic-tipped — and a dentist keeping an eye on it.
The usual alternative
Venom bites: two separate vertical channels that do not stitch the muscle together.
Care for the first two weeks
Cold soft food and a rinse after every meal. Swelling lasts three to five days — that is why the first barbell is a long one. Skip alcohol, spicy food and hot drinks until it goes down.
