FAQ
Is this real gold?
No, it is a rose gold coloured coating on steel or titanium. An item made of a gold alloy would cost many times more, and the hallmark would be in its name. On edges and in places of constant rubbing the coating lightens over time.
Can the shade be renewed once it has worn off?
PVD cannot be re-deposited in a workshop — it is factory equipment. The jeweller’s re-plating offered instead is galvanic gold plating: a layer softer than PVD that wears off noticeably faster. What keeps the colour longer is the habit of taking the jewellery off before scrubs and abrasive pastes.
